Jewelry Care

Good care can extend the lifetime of even the most delicate handmade jewelry so it can be enjoyed for generations!

For beaded pieces:

  • avoid getting wet. If wet, dry in an open space/ avoid airtight containers.

  • handle delicately, most are made with nylon string that is tough but can become stressed over time if worn often. For beaded items with a clasp, please put on and take off gently.

  • store hanging if possible, especially with fringe. Depending on the way they are stored, beaded jewelry may become warped over time.

For metal pieces:

  • avoid getting wet. If we, dry in an open space/ avoid airtight containers.

  • if worn often, or if kept in an airtight container for long periods of time, pieces made of any material (even sterling silver) will accumulate small scratches and natural patina over time. To remedy shallow scratches and slight tarnishing, gently use a polishing cloth or a toothbrush and baking soda to brighten up the piece.

Repairs: I am willing to do repairs to the best of my ability! At the end of the day, my greatest wish when selling jewelry is that the pieces I make can bring someone joy for a lifetime. Repair costs depend on work time, cost of materials, and cost of shipping.
