The desire to preserve memories of sisterhood surfaces a struggle that permeates all of my relationships- the difficulty to appreciate the separate experiences of two people who are bonded closely together. My midwestern family often feels like an anomaly to me, due to how extensive my list of relatives is but how few of them I actually know well.

By borrowing imagery and colors from childhood experiences shared with my sister like sticker books, costume jewelry, and catching bugs, I have created a wearable collage of our shared experiences. These physical items bring into reality conversations of togetherness and separation that are often difficult to put into words.
